Friends of The Ring

Since opening our doors in 2005, The Building Stage has received consistent critical acclaim, and our work has often been heralded for its unique and powerful vision. After our first year, we were mentioned in American Theatre magazine, as a theater company to keep an eye on. Our productions have been mentioned in multiple publications as "Best of the Year" in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. An After Dark Award for Overall Production was awarded in 2006 to Dustbowl Gothic, and one for Overall Technical Production in 2008 for Noir.

This year The Building Stage is taking our past successes and running forward into the future with bold visions and challenging work: we have already embarked on our most ambitious project to date — in the tradition of original adaptations that we have established as an exciting part of our repertoire, we are creating a six-hour, original theatrical adaptation of Richard Wagner's opera epic, The Ring Cycle. We are extraordinarily excited about this project and look forward to sharing it with you. But we cannot do it without your help.

Ticket sales account for less than half of our budget. We rely on the generous support of benefactors like you to help us meet our financial goals. Please consider joining our Friends of the Ring campaign. By joining at any of the levels listed below, you will be helping us stage what promises to be one of the most talked about theatrical events of the season. Thanks to the generosity of one of our donors, any gift you make will be matched dollar for dollar. Our matching donor has challenged us to raise $10,000 in this appeal before December 31, 2010. It's a bold challenge, fitting for this epic production, and with your help we can do it!
